Junior Mathematics (Pāngarau)

Our Junior Mathematics Programme is designed to develop a strong foundation in mathematical knowledge, skills, and problem-solving strategies through a range of key learning areas, including:

Algebra
Measurement
Geometry
Statistics
Probability

The programme also incorporates:

The use of Maths Buddy and Education Perfect to support both classroom learning and independent extension activities at home.
The integration of Chromebooks and digital learning tools to enhance student engagement, collaboration, and mathematical understanding.
Opportunities for students to develop confidence in applying mathematical concepts to real-world contexts.
This balanced approach ensures that students build the essential skills and knowledge required for success in senior mathematics and beyond.

The students are also invited to sit for the Numeracy assessment.

Senior Mathematics Pathways

NCEA Level 1

Three courses offering a minimum of 10 credits and maximum of 15 credits and the opportunity to gain the NZQA Numeracy requirement:

These are comprised of 2 internal assessments and 1 external assessment. External assessment is extended to those students who have gained their Numeracy.
