Donation Scheme for Students 2027

The Board of Trustees of Tararua College have opted into the Government's new School Donation Scheme. This means that College will receive $150 per student as part of its Operational Grant. This payment replaces the need for the school to request donations from parents/caregivers. There are some costs which will still require payment such as school uniform, musical instrument tuition, costs for materials used in the production of items which are then taken home (e.g. a table made in hard materials technology), extra-curricular clubs, and optional activities (e.g. junior electives). Details of these costs will be made clear when a student signs up for an activity. A donation for overnight camps as part of specific course delivery may be requested by the college. These, however, are voluntary payments and will be at the discretion of the parents/caregivers as to whether they pay none, part or the entire donation. Voluntary donations can still be paid to the school by parents/caregivers and will always be welcomed, but these will not be requested or appear on the student’s school account.

School Locker: Enquire at the College Office if you require a locker.

End of Year Activities: These range in price, you will be informed of the full details of the activity your child chooses.

During the year, additional costs may arise for special events, items or activities such as school photos and visiting theatre groups.
